Job Definition:
The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in reverse engineering parts, creating detailed 3D models and annotated drawings, and maintaining relationships with machine and fabrication shops.
The Mechanical Engineer will serve as the resident expert on machining and fabrication, ensuring the optimization of designs for improved efficiency and performance.
This position is an in-office position with the ability to work remotely on occasion.
Responsibilities:
Reverse engineer existing parts and optimize designs for improved efficiency and performance.
Collaborate with machine and fabrication shops to ensure successful production and timely delivery of parts.
Act as a resident expert on all aspects of machining and fabrication processes.
Utilize SolidWorks to create 3D models and annotated drawings for machine parts.
Regularly communicate quotes, production timelines, and updates to internal teams and external partners.
Quote parts using SAP and ensure accuracy in pricing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Provide technical support to cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

years of mechanical engineering experience.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
Strong understanding of machining and fabrication processes.
Ability to critically measure components using standard machine shop tools Metallurgical knowledge Fit and function of mechanical components Understanding of metallic surface finishes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, as needed.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with SAP for quoting and pricing parts.
