Summary:
Responsible for corresponding with insurance carriers on aged, unpaid claims to secure and expedite payments through the follow up and appeals resolution process.
Reviews task, credit balance and denial worklist daily/weekly Contacts insurance companies to determine status on unpaid or denied accounts.
Sends any necessary copies, or supporting documentation required by insurance companies Notes contact with insurance companies in patient's account Notes contact with patients in patient's account Knowledge of navigating on-line insurance websites Mail insurance claim forms, affix attachments if required Prepare and file insurance appeals Investigates insurance credit balances for resolution Identify billing errors, such as needed changes in procedures or policies and reports to supervisor for correction of such Review insurance newsletters and websites for updates Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies (ie; OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC, etc.
) Perform other duties as assigned Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificate Training or courses in business office activities, computer skills, and medical terminology Collection/billing certification, preferred Work Site Highlights:
