Summary:
Responsibilities include general medical and psychiatric coverage that reflects new or ongoing medical problems and initial evaluations.
These include:
medical histories, physical exams, admission orders, etc.
Psychiatric problems and needs will be addressed with the assistance and guidance of a senior staff psychiatrist.
Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Qualifications EDUCATION, TRAINING AND
Experience:
Ohio licensed Nurse Practitioner with demonstrated medical experience and proven leadership, strong clinical skills, and high motivation.
Graduate of accredited program preferred.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good communications skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Shows initiative and possess good problem solving skills.
Ability to use thermometer, sphygmomanometer, emergency medical equipment, oto/ophthalmoscope.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Exposure to psychiatric patients, some of which are children who may possess unknown childhood diseases, and who may exhibit violent, aggressive and/or unpredictable behavior.
Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste.
General hospital and psychiatric residential environmentWORK CONTACT GROUP:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Physical agility to manage patients.
Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
