AIRFIELD MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position being filled. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while maintaining, retailing, purchasing or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus or other transportation equipment or services or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. OR EDUCATION:
Three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree ora Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of rules, laws, regulations, instructions, and directives as they pertain to airfield planning and design criteria, aircraft operations, and airfield management to include but not limited to Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration and International Civil Aviation. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments and evaluate options concerning airfield operations, maintenance and training program. Ability to plan, organize and direct a training program. Knowledge of education theories, principles, procedures, and practices and training programs. Ability to interpret training directives, instructions and guidance. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
