Summary:
The Construction Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) performs an essential role in Bolt Construction's office-based team.
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of managing EHS policies and maintaining compliance with Bolt Construction's safety policies, client policies, and OSHA regulations for buildings and construction areas.
This will involve creating, administering, and conducting construction training for employees, as well as enforcing safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
To effectively communicate and train employees on construction safety regulations and policies, the EHS in this office-based role must possess a creative and professional approach toward training.
It is essential for a deep understanding of OSHA policies and regulations, and can effectively convey this knowledge to employees, including training on new safety policies as they arise.
This full-time position may require more than 40 hours per week, depending on department/project needs and deadline objectives.

Experience and Education Four (4) years of Safety Program Management or a BS in Construction Safety BS Construction Safety (Preferred) Safety Professional Credentials or Safety Training Certifications (BCSP-CSP, ASP or CHT preferred) First Aid/CPR/AED Training Certification Honorably discharged military veterans (encouraged) Skills Team building Fluent in English (written and verbal) Attention to detail Training management Microsoft Applications Critical thinking and logical thought process Risk assessment/hazard analysis Recognizing unsafe conditions and behavior Problem-solving Research and development Crisis management Time and resource management Excellent communication and organizational skills Knowledge Principles of leadership and responsibilities EHS Program Management System CFR 29 OSHA 1926 and 1910 Standards Environmental protections Construction and mechanical tools and equipment operations Preventive maintenance checks and services Material handling and storage Training/Teaching methods Implementation of Hierarchy of Controls Hazard Analysis, hazard recognition, and risk assessment Incident/Accident investigation and reporting procedures Requirements High School Diploma/GED or higher Certifications in Safety Professional Training (BCSP preferred) Pass pre-employment physical Physically able to perform construction work activity without restrictions Fluent English (written and verbal) Maintain a valid driver's license Pass a criminal background check.
