0Summary of Position The principal duties are to effectively teach Geology and Environmental Science courses and the associated laboratory courses at the baccalaureate level.
This will include general education science courses, introductory courses for Geology and Environmental Science majors, and upper division courses in Geology and/or Environmental Science.
The Lecturer will be responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, organizing, and supervising laboratory sections; developing in-class learning activities; writing and grading examinations and laboratory reports; and holding office hours to respond to student questions outside of class.
The Lecturer will also keep inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment needed for the laboratory courses and lecture courses and send order requests to the departmental Academic Operations Specialist in a timely manner.
Other duties will include involvement in course and program assessment, curriculum development/improvement, and other education-related duties.
Teaching faculty members are encouraged to use innovative teaching methods and educational enrichment activities such as field trips, supplemental videos, and student projects.
Term contracts do not include scholarly or service activities, but only teaching duties with a 15-semester-hour expectation per term.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.
Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:

Qualifications:
MS degree or higher in Geology or Environmental Science and teaching experience in both geology and environmental science coursework at the college level.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Extensive teaching experience at the college level in both geology and environmental science is preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
